Make a Sanding Dust Box

Sanding clay, metal or resin can be very messy, not to mention hazardous to your health, if you inhale all that dust. So, I have been on the lookout for a sanding box online. I decided to see if I could build one inexpensively. I came upon a YouTube video under MofigoDIY. This video was perfect for my needs. I just did some modifications for my liking.

I purchased a $5 plastic tub from Target. I marked both sides of the tub using a round metal scrapbook die and a black Sharpie pen. I followed the markings using my Dremel 2001 and cutting bit. Once the circles were cut out, I sanded the raw edges. I then used my Surebonder Cool Shot Glue Gun to glue the sleeves onto the tub. (I cut the sleeves off an old shirt.)

The Sanding Dust Box works perfectly with my cordless 7350 Dremel. When I am done sanding, all I have to do is vacuum out all the dust particles.

Instructions

Cut a 5" inch circle on both sides and sand edges.

Glue sleeve.

Sand objects with the lid on the tub.
